BLACK BEAR LODGE, South Lake Tahoe

Black Bear Lodge, a cozy retreat in South Lake Tahoe, features rooms in the main lodge, suites, and private cabins. Main lodge rooms include king beds, soft sheets, and river rock gas fireplaces. Cabins offer space and privacy. Studio Cabins feature king beds, gas fireplaces, kitchenettes with full-size refrigerators, microwaves, double-burner hot plates, and coffee stations. The Hideout Cabin includes a see-through gas fireplace, a jetted tub, and a separate shower. The Den Cabin has two bedrooms, a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and a kitchenette.

The lodge bar features craft beers, California wines, and small plate appetizers with a rotating list of featured wineries. Guests can enjoy wine by the 32-foot river rock fireplace or on the back patio. Ski Run Blvd, within walking distance, offers global restaurants: Artemis Mediterranean Grill, Shangrila Himalayan Kitchen, Yugen Sushi, and Thai on Ski Run. Local coffee shops include Freebird Cafe, Black Cabin Coffee, Revive Coffee, and Cuppa Tahoe.

A town shuttle to Heavenly's California Base picks up outside the property approximately every 20 minutes.
